Tourists for a Weekend

There is no better time to visit New York City than Christmas, and last week my favorite visitor of all came to stay! My sister, Alexandra, made the long 8 hour journey from Pittsburgh just to see her favorite (*cough* only) sister for less than 48 hours. Together we put together what I consider to be a pretty perfect itinerary of city adventures for someone who's not a new york newbie.

Andddd here we go:

So there's no question that brunch was going to involved, I mean who are you even talking to?

Soho's Jack's Wife Freda is already on my list of fave brunches in the city and Alexandra was dying to go, so this one was a no brainer.

Pimms and lemonade is a favorite Alexandra and I share! 

Chicken Prego for me and Avocado toast for the vegetarian.

December in New York means allll the sample sales. We checked out Madewell and J Crew.

Side Note: The mob-fest at the J Crew sample sale is actually what I imagine hell to look like. 

Not joking.

The new Whitney Museum is not only home to some incredible American art but also killer views of the city on each level. 

Alexandra took the role of personal photographer very seriously. 

This exhibit is part of Frank Stella: A Retrospective.

The piece that spoke to me most, to be honest. 

While these snaps best sum up the weekend, we also managed to fit in two dinners in Astoria, the Bryant Park Winter Village, pop up shops in Columbus Circle and some embarrassing Adele lip singing sessions-- which I've attached below because my threshold for embarrassment tends to be overwhelmed by my comic genius. You're welcome.
